Swatch & Review: Star Kin Mariana

Hi lovelies,

May is NZ Indie polish month, and today to celebrate I have a GORGEOUS glitter from Star Kin to show you. Inspired by the Mariana Trench (the deepest part of our world's ocean!) it has a deep blue jelly base with holographic glitters throughout. Here, I've shown two coats over China Glaze Queen B for maximum opacity.
It was easy to apply in two coats, and surprisingly wasn't gritty at ALL after just one coat of Rica Glossy Glam - another reason why this is one of my favorite top coats! I loved this so much that I wore it for nearly an entire week and it held up fantastically well. I think a pretty significant factor was my basecoat too - I gave the Sally Hansen 18K Gold Hardener a go for this mani, and it's safe to say that I'm impressed!

I just adore the depth that this polish has over a dark base. It really does look like deep sea treasures glittering in dark water.

What are your favorite indie polishes/brands? Let me know!

Swatch & Review: Dollish Polish Expecto Patronum & Too Fancy Lacquer Tell Me A Sea-cret

Hey loves,

Today I have a slightly overdue post for you... I took these photos like the WEEK of starting my new job which was almost 2 months ago (!). Anyways - I love these two polishes paired together, and I figured an accent nail was a great way to showcase both of them!

Expecto Patronum is a polish that I can remember lemming since BEFORE I started blogging, and I was so so happy to finally get my hands on it. It's a beautiful white jelly polish interspersed with holographic teal glitter. You could probably get away with two coats, but I did three here for opacity. Tell Me a Sea-cret is a beautiful teal holographic polish - it is such a stunner in direct sunlight IRL! It applied flawlessly in two coats, and I found that the holographic effect wasn't diminished by top coat.

Have you tried either of these indie brands? Let me know what you think!
