Hey Girlies!
Today I have a MAC lipstick from the Alluring Aquatic LE collection, Goddess of the Sea. It is a “dark vibrant violet” in a Cremesheen finish. I’m a sucker for anything remotely purple so I had to have this.
And just look at the packaging! I just can’t get over how pretty the teal chrome is with the water droplet effect. Soooooo pretty! I was unsure about the Creemesheen formula as I’m more of a matte kinda girl, but this lippy definitely won me over. Unfortunately I can’t see how it counts as violet – I did some color research and it definitely looks more fandango (what a name), which is apparently technically a fuchsia. Anyhow, it still has a purple tone that I didn’t quite manage to capture and adds to the prettiness of this lipstick.
I compared it to shades that I thought might be kind of similar – from left to right, these swatches are of MAC Up the Amp, MAC Goddess of the Sea, and MAC Rebel. You can see that Up the Amp is brighter and more purple, and Rebel is brighter and more berry-toned.
